1. What is shiatsu massage method? Born when?

Shiatsu massage is a therapy developed in Japan, combining techniques such as acupressure, stretching and western massage. Acupressure Shiatsu uses thumbs, palms and elbows to massage, applying pressure to the skin in a rhythmic sequence along the body to release energy. “Shi”  is finger and  “atsu”  is pressure. According to the consulting doctors, the purpose of the method is to improve blood circulation, correct dysfunction, create excitement and can cure some specific diseases such as sinusitis, lower back pain. People who perform these massage movements also improve blood circulation, reduce stress and regenerate energy effectively.

The massage techniques are mainly acupressure using the main force from the thumb, hand, palm and elbow (elbow). It is a form of massage that uses the strength of rubbing and kneading muscles, the technician uses the thumb to press, press, other fingers and the palm to create pressure on the body, promote strength and exercise. Focusing energy on fingertips acts on acupuncture points, arouses energy inside the body, helps blood circulation, relieves muscle aches, cramps (cramps).

This method was developed based on the ancient Japanese method of Anma Massage and was created in the 1320s by master Kan Ichi.

2. Steps to perform Japanese shiatsu massage

Step 1: Soak your feet in salt water and herbs.

Step 2:   Let the client lie on his stomach, walk by hand from the foot to the back to stretch the client’s muscles.

Step 3:  Go to the back and shoulder acupressure points, rub the waist, rub the spine, rub the shoulder.

Step 4:  Go to the acupoints of the hind legs and soles of the feet, rub the thighs and thighs.

Step 5:   Let the guest lie on their back, massage their head, go to the neck & shoulder acupuncture points.

Step 6:  Walk the hand and palm, rub the biceps and forearm muscles.

Step 7:   Take acupuncture points along both sides of thighs, calves & feet, toes, and leg muscles.

Step 8:   Let the guest sit up (relax), rub the shoulders back, pat the end.

Step 9:  Drink tea, eat fruit and cake.
